There are reasons why good hygiene is very valuable. Your overall health benefits from it. Keeping your entire body clean from head to toe not only helps prevent illnesses and infections from harmful bacteria, but it can boost your self-esteem. Hand Hygiene

Hand hygiene is the hygiene that pertains to your hands. The act of hand washing is one of the most common practices for hygiene. It also prevents the spread of germs to eyes, mouth, people around you – and your things, too!

You should wash your hands whenever you handle food, garbage, pet an animal, sneeze, or use the restroom.

Observe the 5-step rule for washing hands:

Step One Wet

First, open the faucet and wet your hands with clean water.

Step Two: Lather.

Get some soap. Proceed to apply soap to your hands. Make sure that there are bubbles that you can lather around them.

Step Three: Scrub

The third step is easy. Just scrub your hands.

Step Four: Rinse

Take the soap lather from your hands by rinsing under clean water.

Step Five: Dry

Air dry your hands. You can also use a towel.

Nail Hygiene

Keeping your hands – and nails – well-maintained can stop the spread of germs in areas of your body. You can trim your nails regularly and use a nail file to smooth them out and make them aesthetically pleasing!

You can also use a nail brush or washcloth. This will remove any dirt or buildup under your fingernails. Moreover, avoiding biting your nails and picking at the cuticles is necessary for good nail hygiene. If you are the kind who likes changing their nail color, try an acetone-free formula.

Oral Hygiene

Lastly, oral hygiene refers to your mouth hygiene. You can prevent gum disease, cavities, and bad breath by regularly brushing and flossing your teeth; you can brush your teeth twice daily, once in the morning and once at night. You can also add mouthwash to your routine, as it will protect your mouth from tooth decay.

You should also visit a dentist for routine checkups and cleanings. It is recommended that the visits are from 6-12 months. Meanwhile, you should replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months!

Wrapping Up

By keeping the body clean, you can reap its positive effects on your social life and your physical and mental health. It will also noticeably brighten up your mental health.
