What Is a Dual Run Capacitor?

Dual run capacitors are important electrical components in HVAC systems that provide the necessary starting boost to multiple motors at the same time. A small device, it combines two capacitors in one casing and usually runs a compressor and a fan motor in air conditioning systems. The capacitor enables the motors to overcome initial inertia with the help of stored electrical energy for maximum running efficiency.
